The Calgary Workforce Council consists of representatives from regional Service Providers and PDD working with the Provincial Workforce Council and other regional councils to move forward the Human Resources Strategy for the sector.
Our Purpose
Develop a regional human resource strategy, in collaboration with Alberta Council of Disability Services (ACDS) provincial workforce council’s initiative. Some key outcomes either underway or completed include:
- Develop retention strategies for new recruits and share these with service providers
- Profile recruitment and retention activities and strategies currently utilized by Service Providers within the Calgary region
- Design a web-based platform to disseminate
- current and relevant Employer of Choice resource information, and
- profile members who demonstrate employer of choice practices
- Develop a social marketing approach for the region
- Facilitate use of consistent job profiles, as identified in the Workforce Classification System
- Develop the Foundations In Community and Disability Studies in-service training course on-line
- Create a three-year action plan
