Recruitment PracticesReferral BonusWe find that word of mouth is one of our best recruitment strategies. To encourage employees to promote the organization to others, we offer a cash referral bonus to those who refer new applicants. In June 2008 we found that the number of applicants who had been referred by staff members was equal to the number who had been informed of the organization through other means, such as advertising. AdvertisingOur organization uses the Human Resources and Social Development government job bank and the Calgary Herald, as well as our own website and a number of other job posting websites to post available positions. In addition, we conduct a door to door mail out campaign and regularly participate in career fairs. |
