Recruitment Practices

Recruitment Sign Visible on Building

We have a removable ‘we are hiring’ sign that can be placed on our building. This helps to draw people in from the community and create awareness for our organization.

We have had many people stop by the organization from Mount Royal College as well as many others who live in the area and have seen the sign.

Recruitment Fairs

Our organization attends recruitment fairs at Mount Royal College, Bow Valley College, the University of Calgary, the Treaty Seven Disability Conference, and some high schools. This helps to draw new graduates to the organization and to create awareness of our agency.

We often receive five to ten resumes when we attend a career fair. Many of our practicum students are recruited this way as well.

Advertising

Some of the places we advertise include the Human Resources and Social Development government website, Mount Royal College, Bow Valley College, and the University of Calgary. We also fax our job postings to various agencies around the city.

This is actually our best recruitment strategy. Most of the resumes we receive come from individuals who have been informed about the position through our advertisements on websites.
