Recruitment StrategiesHiring BonusWe advertise on our website a $1000 hiring bonus in the "Job Opportunities" link. If an applicant is hired they will receive a $1000 bonus after working 1000 hours for our agency. It takes about 6 months for an employee to work 1000 hours. Not only is this strategy a good recruitment strategy, it is also helps retain staff and encourage them to stay for 1000 hours and more. We started using this strategy just 6 months ago and have a couple of employees who are on the verge of earning their bonus. They mentioned to me that they like having the bonus to look forward to. Employee Referral IncentiveWe reward employees if they refer a successful applicant that stays with us past the six month probation period. Employees that are already working for us are able to establish whether a potential applicant would be a good fit for our organization. Applicants do not have to be friends and there is no cap on the number of applicants an employee can refer. We have successfully hired with this incentive. We have an employee that will receive this bonus in a couple months. We just need to remind our employees that the incentive is there for them to continually take advantage of. AdvertisingWe advertise available positions on our website on the "Job Opportunity" page. This page lists the available positions, their descriptions and easy ways to apply for available positions. We also advertise openings in our agency on the Government of Canada's Job Bank website as well as Craigslist.ca. These websites allow us to list openings and descriptions free of charge. Updating the listings on these websites is an important way to get your vacancy noticed. The majority of our employees have been hired because of our online advertising. |
